About me

H. Jeffrey Kim, MD, is board-certified in neurotology and otolarynogolgy-head and neck surgery. Dr. Kim is the Director of Neurotology and Otology and the co-Director of the MedStar Georgetown University Hospital Acoustic Neuroma and Skull Base Tumor Center. He and a multidisciplinary team provide specialized treatment for acoustic neuroma (vestibular schwanoma) and skull base tumors, such as glomus tumors.

As an ear specialist (otologist/neurolotologist), Dr. Kim also diagnoses and cares for patients of all ages with ear, hearing and balance disorders. He addresses genetic hearing loss, otosclerosis, cochlear implants, chronic ear infections, cholestatoma, Meniere's disease, facial nerve disorder, skull base tumors and congenital ear malformations.

Dr. Kim focuses on MedStar Georgetown's philosophy of caring for the whole person, always considering his patient's medical condition and personal needs. He provides patients all the information and treatment options available to help them make a decision they're happy with.

Dr. Kim also participates in clinical research at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders through the National Institutes of Health. His areas of research include rare tumors and genetic disorders related to hearing loss.

Dr Kim has published numerous manuscripts and book chapters and his research has been frequently presented at national and international meetings. He is a fellow of the Triological Society, American Otological Society, American Neurotology Society, American Academy of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, American College of Surgeons, and DC Metropolitan Otolaryngology-HNS Society. Dr. Kim has been recognized in the "Best Doctors in America," Washingtonian's Top Doctors," and "Castle Connolly's Top Doctors" listings over the last several years.
