He has been involved in multiple long-term research studies, most recently as the site primary investigator at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital for the Ethnic/Racial Variations of Intracerebral Hemorrhage (ERICH) study. Dr. Mayson has published multiple articles on his research studies.

Outside of work, Dr. Mayson is an avid skier and hiker. He also has traveled extensively, including to parts of South America, Europe and Asia.
