Hospital Orientation for New Associates
All new associates attend Hospital Orientation on their first day. Executives and leaders from across the organization will share with you an organization overview, the patient experience and key information for a successful career at Georgetown.
New Manager Orientation
Anyone hired or promoted into a supervisor, manager or director role is expected to attend New Manager Orientation. This program provides associates in supervisory roles the tools they need to effectively and efficiently execute the managerial role.
MedStar Organizational Effectiveness
MedStar “OE” is to be a catalyst for organizational learning and development. This corporate department works collaboratively with clients as business partners and as a resource for enhancing individual, departmental and organizational effectiveness.
Courses offered include MedStar Leader of the Future, theGood to Great Performance Management series, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, From Peer to Boss among others.
Highly Reliable Organization
MedStar Georgetown University Hospital has long been committed to delivering the highest levels of quality and safety to its patients. What is a High Reliability Organization? A HRO is an organization that succeeds in avoiding catastrophes in an environment where normal accidents may occur due to various risk factors and the complexity of its systems. All Georgetown associates receive a full day training on the principles of an HRO which includes valuable lessons about the importance of high reliability, and focused on three “absolutes” that help maintain a strong safety culture:

E-Learning SiTEL
MedStar’s Simulation Training and Education Lab (SiTEL) is made up of simulation technologists, game designers, outreach coordinators, healthcare professionals, educators and researchers. This department employs integrated learning solutions combining clinical simulation technologies, digital media services and electronic learning to empower MedStar Health.
