Active in the study of non-narcotic analgesics, Dr. Myers has developed protocols for anesthesia similar to those of the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Society. Based on the ComfortSafe Pyramid, these non-narcotic techniques emphasize comfort, safety, rapid awakening and avoidance of side effects. They help patients return home sooner by decreasing the likelihood of nausea or vomiting and reducing confusion in elderly patients.
Dr. Myers is a native of McLean, Va. where he attended Langley High School, playing football and baseball. He is an avid fisherman. His undergraduate degree is from Brown University and he earned his medical degree at the University of Virginia before coming to MedStar Georgetown for internship and residency.
