The MedStar Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center
The MedStar Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer center in the national capital region. It is also one of just 69 National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated Cancer Centers in the U.S. This program provides innovative diagnostic, treatment, and care options for virtually all types of cancer.
Through our robust research program, Georgetown Lombardi is developing targeted cancer therapies designed to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life. Our patients have access to more than 200 research studies and clinical trial opportunities.
Georgetown Lombardi provides both inpatient and outpatient services. Clinical offerings include the Adult and Pediatric Infusion Centers, CyberKnife systems, the Hematology/Oncology Clinic, the Betty Lou Ourisman Breast Health Center, and 2 Bles and 3 Bles Inpatient Oncology Departments. The Department of Neuroscience at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
The Department of Neuroscience offers two CyberKnife systems, a multidisciplinary Spine Center, a Movement Disorders program, an Epilepsy Monitoring Unit and the Acoustic Neuroma and Skull Base Tumor Center. As one of the country’s most experienced interventional neuro-radiology departments, we perform highly advanced, minimally invasive procedures for the treatment of aneurysms, strokes and arteriovenous malformations. MedStar Georgetown has over 60 beds devoted to inpatient neuroscience care, including C6-3 Neuro ICU, C6-2 the AMSN PRISM Award winning Neuro Medical Surgical Unit, and the C6-1 Joint Commission Certified Stroke Center. The MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute
The Transplant Institute provides the largest and most comprehensive liver transplant program in the Mid-Atlantic, as well as a small bowel transplant program for both adults and children. The Transplant Institute also performs kidney, pancreas and islet cell transplants and is one of a small number of Medicare-approved transplant centers nationwide. The Department of Gastroenterology at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital
The Department of Gastroenterology provides internationally-recognized expertise in all aspects of digestive health. Clinical offerings include our comprehensive Liver Clinic, where we offer full diagnostic evaluation and treatment for all forms of liver disease. The Department of Gastroenterology also encompasses our state-of-the-art Endoscopy Department, which performs nearly 12,000 advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures each year. Learn more.
