Our Diabetes Education Classes help you to learn how to better manage your diabetes at home. The group format allows multiple clinicians to present and facilitates discussion among peers who may be going through the same challenges. Educational Topics covered in each class are as follows:

Classes are held on the first three Thursdays of each month from 8:00-9:30.
The classes are covered by most insurance policies, although some require a copay. Insurance eligibility is checked prior to each appointment. 


Classes are located on the 6th Floor of the Pasquerilla Health Center (PHC) Building on the campus of MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. The program is within the General Internal Medicine Practice.

Other Information 

MGUH’s Diabetes Education Program is accredited and formally recognized by the American Diabetes Association (ADA).
All classes and individual education sessions scheduled by appointment only.
Classes & Individual Sessions covered by most insurance policies, eligibility checked prior to appointment
Referral required for all services except Prediabetes class (this class is self-pay with a flat rate of $25)
