MedStar Georgetown NICU Reunion

Virtual 2021 NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day – Sept. 11, 2021

We hope you are staying healthy and safe. We have missed seeing your smiling faces in person, but we are looking forward to hosting our annual NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day on Sept. 11, 2021 (once again virtually)—so please mark your calendars!

We are planning another fun-filled event with photo slideshows, virtual games, remarks from staff and graduates, and a chance to connect with your favorite caregivers.

We would love to include before/after photos of your graduate during the event! If you are interested in submitting photos, please send the following information to [email protected]:

  • Name of child, current age, and year they were born
  • High-resolution photo of your child in the NICU
  • High-resolution photo of your child today
  • 1-2 sentences (max) about your child or your reflections

Please email the photos and information no later than Aug. 2, 2021.

We look forward to seeing everyone in September for our virtual 2021 NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day!

About MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s annual NICU Reunion & Family Fun Day

MedStar Georgetown's annual NICU Reunion is a cherished tradition that reunites caregivers with the babies and families they cared for at their most fragile and vulnerable times. Held each year (either in-person or virtually) on a Saturday in September, the event draws hundreds of families to celebrate the special bond they all share in a fun, family-centered atmosphere.

Among the in-person attractions are a moon bounce, kids’ obstacle course, photo booth, face painting stations, ice cream and balloons, as well as a picnic lunch with cake. The afternoon rounds out with presentations of special awards, a speech from a thriving NICU graduate, a raffle prize draw of sports memorabilia donated by local sports teams, and group photos.

Many families participating have returned year after year. What makes it special is that they are surrounded by other families who have similarly navigated the trying experience of having a baby in the NICU. Every year on the day of the NICU Reunion, families can relax in a supportive environment, reconnect with their favorite doctors and nurses, and enjoy how far they have all come.
