2020 NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day - Postponed
We are currently facing unprecedented times at MedStar Georgetown as we continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic. With this uncertainty, we have decided to postpone the 2020 NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day scheduled for September.
Please mark your calendars for Sept. 11, 2021, when we plan to reschedule our next in-person NICU Reunion event for our families.
We still hope to keep you connected! Stay tuned for details on a possible virtual/video celebration for our NICU families in September 2020. Information will be posted here and emailed to our mailing lists once a decision has been made.
MedStar Georgetown's annual NICU Reunion is a cherished tradition that reunites caregivers with the babies and families they cared for at their most fragile and vulnerable times. Held each year on a Saturday in September, the event on the CCC podium draws hundreds of families to celebrate the special bond they all share in a fun, family-centered atmosphere.
Among the attractions are a moon bounce, kids’ obstacle course, photo booth, face painting stations, ice cream and balloons, as well as a picnic lunch with cake. The afternoon rounds out with presentations of special awards, a speech from a thriving NICU graduate, a raffle prize draw of sports memorabilia donated by local sports teams, and group photos.
Many families participating have returned year after year. What makes it special is that they are surrounded by other families who have similarly navigated the trying experience of having a baby in the NICU. Every year on the day of the NICU Reunion, families can relax in a supportive environment, reconnect with their favorite doctors and nurses, and enjoy how far they have all come.
