Virtual 2020 NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day – Sept. 12, 2020
We were so excited to see everyone during our first-ever virtual NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day on Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020 via Webex.
We know that not everyone was able to join us for our annual event this year, so we have included links to the recording of the Webex NICU Reunion as well as the welcome video.
We hope to see everyone in person next year for our NICU Reunion and Family Fun Day, so please mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021.
About MedStar Georgetown University Hospital’s annual NICU Reunion & Family Fun Day
MedStar Georgetown's annual NICU Reunion is a cherished tradition that reunites caregivers with the babies and families they cared for at their most fragile and vulnerable times. Held each year on a Saturday in September, the event on the CCC podium draws hundreds of families to celebrate the special bond they all share in a fun, family-centered atmosphere.
Among the attractions are a moon bounce, kids’ obstacle course, photo booth, face painting stations, ice cream and balloons, as well as a picnic lunch with cake. The afternoon rounds out with presentations of special awards, a speech from a thriving NICU graduate, a raffle prize draw of sports memorabilia donated by local sports teams, and group photos.
Many families participating have returned year after year. What makes it special is that they are surrounded by other families who have similarly navigated the trying experience of having a baby in the NICU. Every year on the day of the NICU Reunion, families can relax in a supportive environment, reconnect with their favorite doctors and nurses, and enjoy how far they have all come.
