Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR): Participant Stories

Mindfulness training involves learning how to purposely pay attention—to be present, physically, both internally and externally—and be aware of experiences, but not consumed by them. For many people, this means learning how to make more purposeful choices, instead of reacting automatically to things in our lives we can’t control. Most important, mindfulness involves an intention to reduce or relieve suffering through cultivating kindness and compassion for oneself and others.
