MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute

Giving: The Power to Heal

In the world of transplant medicine, the best patient results stem from the best and most experienced  multidisciplinary team, state-of-the art technology and knowledgeable, compassionate care. With our emphasis on cura personalis—caring for the whole person—MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute is known for accepting the most difficult cases and performing some of the world’s most complex transplants on adults and children, while achieving consistently excellent outcomes.

This Year, Your Gifts Supported

  • A new screening program for the early detection of chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis C, the leading causes of primary liver cancer, vastly improving survival
  • A program to study the immunologic tolerance in patients to avoid the need for lifelong medication
  • The creation of a pediatric patient assistance fund and a patient assistance medication fund to help both pediatric and adult patients and their families with short-term financial needs
  • A joint research program with the Karolinska Institute using cells to cure metabolic diseases, which may prevent the need for future liver transplantations

Ways To Give

As part of the not-for-profit MedStar Health, the MedStar Georgetown Transplant Institute depends upon charitable support to take transplant medicine to the next level and provide the most proven and promising treatments. From the essentials to the extras, the generosity of grateful patients, neighbors and other community members directly affects our continuing ability to deliver the best patient care and transform lives.

Whether you choose to make a gift now, a gift over time (a pledge) or a gift in the future (a bequest or other planned gift), your support will have an impact on the lives of others.
