Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital provides comprehensive programs, education, research, and community outreach. Our clinical programs, serve children birth to 24 years old, and we have community-based initiatives throughout Washington, D.C.
Partnering with MedStar Georgetown’s expert neurologists, the psychiatry department provides assessment, treatment and education for patients with a range of neuropsychiatric conditions associated with movement disorders, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury or neurodegenerative disease.
Mindfulness means paying attention on purpose, non-judgmentally, to what is happening in the present moment. Our eight-week class uses this principle to teach participants skills to reduce physical and emotional stress, and enhance day-to-day well-being.
